Recientemente, el departamento forestal instaló dos cámaras de disparo infrarrojo en el acantilado espiral del Área Escénica de Jinsixia en la Reserva Natural Provincial de Xinkailing para registrar los hábitos de vida de animales protegidos clave de segundo nivel nacional como el goral, el faisán dorado, la urraca azul de pico rojo, el jabalí y los tejones salvajes tomando fotos y videos. Esta es la primera vez que se utilizan cámaras de disparo automático de infrarrojos para disparar a animales salvajes en libertad.

Xinkailing La Reserva Natural Provincial se encuentra en el interior de las montañas Xinkailing en el suroeste y sur de Danjiang. Está a 72 kilómetros de la ciudad y cubre un área de 14.963 hectáreas. Se enfoca en la protección del ecosistema de bosque de hoja ancha subtropical del norte y es una de las áreas de distribución concentrada de especies raras de animales y plantas en las montañas Qinling en Shaanxi.

En los últimos años, con la implementación de proyectos como el Proyecto Tianbao y el Proyecto de Restauración de Vegetación de Protección Ecológica de Qinling, se ha restaurado la vegetación y el entorno ecológico de la reserva, proporcionando un buen entorno de vida para los animales salvajes. El número de poblaciones de animales salvajes ha seguido aumentando, lo que indica que la biodiversidad de la Reserva Xinkailing ha sido protegida y que los animales salvajes raros pueden sobrevivir y reproducirse bien en la reserva.
